Welcome to Dyreborg Harbour
Dyreborg Harbour is a small gem for recreational sailors seeking peace and tranquility, close to nature with opportunities for forest walks and swimming from a bathing platform. The harbour offers access to restrooms, a hot shower, and a sailors' lounge where you can relax indoors. On the harbour's piers, there are tables and small barbecue areas for guests to use in a cozy setting. Dyreborg also has a small shop, "Provianten," run by volunteers, where you can purchase everyday groceries, order morning bread, and more. The shop is a 400-meter walk from the harbour and is open in the morning and late afternoon. For more details, visit www.dyreborg.nu.
Historically, Dyreborg Harbour was the center of a small fishing community. Fishermen used to supplement their income with small-scale farming. The plots of land were located behind the harbour near the forest. The eastern pier of the harbour was once the site for the steam ferry from Faaborg, which transported goods to and from Dyreborg. Fishing is now a leisure activity, and many locals have a small boat and some nets to ensure fresh fish on the dinner table. Today, the harbour is a marina where visitors from both near and far enjoy the serenity of the small harbour with views of Bjørnø, Avernakø, and Ærø.
