Welcome to Saltholm Harbor
Saltholm, an 18 km² island in the middle of the Øresund, welcomes you to a unique experience in unspoiled nature. Our newly renovated harbor, located at Barakkebroen on the island's northwestern side, is your starting point for exploring this historic and scenic gem.
Upon arrival at Saltholm, please be aware that the channel to the harbor is narrow with a depth of approximately 1.5 meters at normal water levels. The harbor offers plenty of spaces, but please remember to keep the area by the crane free for the cattle boat, Mathilde.
Saltholm is ideal for guests seeking peace and nature. The island is known for its untouched forest, beach, and, not least, Onsevig Climate Park. Take a trip up to the old observation tower at Barakkegården and enjoy the stunning views of the Øresund, Copenhagen, and Malmö. Learn about the island’s fascinating history in the visitor pavilion at the harbor, where you will also find the island's only public toilet.
As a visitor, it is important to follow the island's guidelines to protect the delicate nature and the free-roaming animals grazing on the island. Remember, Saltholm is a place where you bring everything you need and take all waste back to the mainland.
We look forward to welcoming you to Saltholm Harbor, where nature, history, and the peaceful atmosphere will give you an experience like no other.
