Welcome to Christiansø
Christiansø Harbor lies at the heart of the Ertholmene islands, about 20 km northeast of Bornholm. The natural harbor between Christiansø and Frederiksø was the reason why King Christian V established the famous sea fortress here in 1684, which still shapes the islands today.
Every year, around 40,000 tourists and 2,000 leisure sailors visit the historic and fully protected harbor, where fortifications, nature, and wildlife are especially safeguarded. The harbor can be entered in all kinds of weather, and there is usually room for vessels under 20 tons without advance booking.
Surrounded by old buildings and cliffs, Christiansø Harbor radiates history – from dramatic sea battles and pirates to the heyday of fishing – but today visitors encounter peace, idyll, and a truly unique cultural environment.
