The race has been held since 2007 and typically takes place in September, starting in Nykøbing Mors and finishing at the Danhostel.

The race attracts participants from both Denmark and abroad, while local residents along the route create atmosphere with so-called route parties.

The route follows mainly tarmac and is divided by aid stations approximately every five kilometres.
Here fluids and energy are provided as runners continue through both open stretches and built-up areas.
26-hour time limit and completion requirements
To complete the race, participants must cross the finish line within 26 hours.
All finishers receive a medal, a diploma and a finisher T-shirt.
