Welcome to Lemvig Marina
Lemvig Marina is located about 1 nautical mile north of the town of Lemvig. It is just under 2 km on foot to reach the town centre, and the “Planet Trail” leads the way. The Planet Trail features a series of planets at a scale of 1:1 billion. The first planet, Saturn, is encountered just west of Lemvig Rowing Club, where the access road to the rowing club meets Strandvejen. Following the trail into the town, visitors encounter the remaining planets up to the Sun, which is located in the bend at Vesterbjerg, where there is also a beautiful view over Lem Vig.
Walking at a normal pace corresponds to roughly three times the speed of light at the scale of the Planet Trail. Similarly, the Earth moves about 2.5 meters per day in its orbit around the Sun. Along the way, visitors pass the Museum of Religious Art, which, in addition to a permanent Bodil Kaalund exhibition, hosts changing exhibitions of acclaimed artists. In Vesterbjerg, you also pass Lemvig Museum, which houses Thøger Larsen’s study, a small astronomy room, and the artist Gantriis’ workspace (known from Livets gang i Lidenlund).
