Strib Lighthouse

White lighthouse overlooking the Lillebælt

At the tip of Strib Odde, a white lighthouse rises above the water. From here you look across the Lillebælt towards Fredericia, where the current in the strait is visible even when the wind is still.

Strib Fyr is a square brick tower, 21 metres tall, built in 1900. Since 1926, its light source has been an incandescent bulb. The lighthouse was last restored in 2005 and remains in use today.

Redoubt and coastal walk

Just east of the lighthouse lies the old redoubt (skanse), from where shipping through the Lillebælt was once monitored. The tip of Strib Odde has been protected since 1919, and the protection secures public access to the beach by the lighthouse.

The lighthouse is a natural turning point on a coastal walk from Nordenbro to Strib Bådehavn, which was the ferry harbour before the old Lillebælt Bridge was built.

The walk is short and suited to anyone wanting a stroll along the Lillebælt without long distances.
