Brorjords Have - En sanselig besøgshave

Brorjords Have is a unique garden located in the small village of Tjørnehoved, just 4 km south of Præstø. The garden is open year-round and operates on trust and self-service, allowing visitors to explore a vibrant and diverse garden environment at their own pace.

A Rosarium of Historic Roses
At the heart of the garden is an extensive collection of historic roses – roses that carry centuries of cultural history. At Brorjords Have, the roses are grouped into families: from the ancient Rosa alba, dating back to Roman times, to Rosa damascena, famous in the perfume industry, and Rosa gallica, which shaped medieval apothecary gardens.
Each rose has a name label, and each rose family has an information sign, giving both enthusiasts and curious beginners a rich and educational experience. The garden also features a wide variety of rare climbing roses, surrounding a distinctive rose pavilion. Here, the roses can be experienced as they grow naturally – lush, fragrant, and full of life.

A Garden with Biodiversity and Habitats for Endangered Butterflies
The garden is designed according to permaculture principles, focusing on sustainability, natural materials, and high biodiversity. Wildflower beds, native plants, and important host plants for endangered butterflies create a buzzing, living landscape where insects, plants, and people can thrive together.

Brorjords Have is both an open garden and a modern, sustainable plant nursery. Visitors can experience historic roses, perennials, and herbs as they grow in the garden, and purchase selected plants in pots to take a piece of the garden home. More information.
