Gilleleje has three delightful beaches – each with its own unique character:
Gilleleje West Beach is a wide and welcoming sandy beach, about 20 metres across and 350 metres long. The Blue Flag assures clean swimming water, great facilities and environmental awareness. Lifeguards ensure safety during the school summer holidays. Here you’ll find a bathing jetty, toilets – including accessible facilities – and convenient parking at the end of Feilbergsvej.
East Beach offers a more peaceful experience – perfect for those who seek a quiet atmosphere while staying close to the town’s buzz. The relaxed setting is just a few steps from Gilleleje’s cosy shops, ice cream stalls and cafés. Ideal for walks and quiet sunbathing.
Strandbakkerne presents a hilly beach landscape with breathtaking views of the Kattegat Sea. Combine beach time with hiking through rolling hills, playtime at the natural playground and panoramic sea vistas. Here, the power of nature and Gilleleje’s special location on the Danish Riviera are truly felt.
Dogs are not allowed in the Blue Flag zone (West Beach) during summer. On other beaches, dogs must be on a leash from 1 April to 30 September. In winter, dogs are allowed both on- and off-leash.
Accessible facilities are located at the end of Alfavej.
Bathing jetty and toilets are found at West Beach.
Parking is available near the beaches – especially at Feilbergsvej.
