The Clover Leaf Routes at Bogense
The Clover leaf trails in Bogense are a great way to get some exercise and enjoy the nature and this cosy market town.
You can cycle, walk, or run – and with four routes, there’s something for everyone.
You’ll find a brochure with the routes at the starting point by Bogense Harbour.
If you bring your dog along, remember it must be kept on a leash.
The historical town route (The green route)
2.3 km
The green route is a lovely walk through Bogense. Along the way you’ll pass Manneken Pis, the old merchant’s yard from the 1700s, Bogense’s old town hall, the charming old square (Torv) with its small buildings, Bogense Church – and then out to the coast and back to the old harbour again.
The dike route (The blue route)
6.3 km
The blue route takes you through some of Nordfyn’s most beautiful coastal scenery, with views of the Måge Islands and Æbelø, and out to the former reclaimed area of Gyldensteen Strand with lovely lagoons, lakes, and fjord landscape. From there, the route heads back via H.C. Andersen Golf, Fredskoven, and Bogense town.
The meadow route (The red route)
8.1 km
The red route passes Barfods Dam and crosses the beautiful meadows by Bogense, where you can spot plenty of birds. You’ll pass Vestre Enge and Fogense, which used to be a shallow fjord area until it was reclaimed in the 1800s. The route also goes by Bogense Marina, where you can enjoy the great view.
The landscape route (The black route)
14.7 km
Beautiful nature, villages, and manor houses – and a great ride by bike! The landscape route takes you into the countryside southeast of Bogense. Here you’ll come across manor houses, a scenic landscape shaped during the last Ice Age, and a varied natural setting – with plenty of fresh air far from busy roads.
