The warm summer days are still here, and the sailing season is far from over. Many sailors are still heading for new ports, and fall offers plenty of opportunities to combine sailing with exciting experiences on land.
Experiences Await at the Dock
Imagine docking in a new harbor where the town is buzzing with life—with music from the waterfront, a market in the town square, or a maritime event that brings together sailors from near and far. Or perhaps a more leisurely sail, where you arrive at a destination featuring art exhibitions or a nature walk that recharges your energy after hours on the water.
There are many experiences to discover in the Harbor Calendar. Here are a few examples:
- Frederikshavn: Step back in time as the Gunpowder Tower and the harbor area are transformed into Fladstrand as it was in 1717. Experience soldiers, cannons, market life, and children’s activities in an authentic journey through time for the whole family. Read more here.

All you need to do to navigate your way to these experiences is follow the link to the Harbor Calendar. Set your course by selecting the date you want to sail, mark your area, and choose the category or categories you’d like to experience—such as music, markets, or maritime events. Then click “Find Events,” and the Harbor Calendar will become your compass, guiding you to the events that fit your sailing plans.

Facts about the calendar
- The calendar was developed in collaboration with Kultunaut and VisitDenmark—which means that all events entered by the tourist offices starting next season will also appear in the calendar.
- The events are also listed on each port’s page at havneguide.dk under “Events near the port” (everything happening within a 2-km radius of the port).
