Ålehuset

In the heart of the charming harbour setting of Klintholm Havn, you will find Ålehuset, a cosy café and shop with deep roots in local history. The name is no coincidence. Ålehuset is located in the building with the old eel tanks, which can still be seen today and were previously used to store eels. For generations, eels were an important part of life and trade at the harbour. Today, the site has been transformed into a cosy meeting place where past and present come together.

Café with a view and quality in your cup

At Ålehuset, you can enjoy local ice cream, coffee, cold drinks, sandwiches and much more. Here, you can take a break overlooking the waves and sailing boats. The selection includes local produce and specialities.

Ålehuset also has an outdoor area with large parasols, a lounge area and picnic tables. Here, you can sit down and enjoy the view and the maritime atmosphere of Klintholm Havn.

Shop with local finds and stories

In the adjoining shop, you will find a selection of local food products and local crafts, as well as small gifts from Møn. Several of the products have a direct connection to the area and the people behind them. You will also find souvenirs to take home as a small reminder of Klintholm Havn.

Ålehuset is a café, shop and meeting place rooted in the history of the harbour. The old eel tanks also tell a small part of the story of the fishing industry that has been part of life at Klintholm Havn for generations.

Ålehuset is run by gourmet chef Jesper Dams, owner of Restaurant ND122 in Klintholm Havn, and Simon Zachodnik. Both have close ties to Klintholm Havn and Møn.
