Nestled at the head of the beautiful Augustenborg Fjord, by the South Jutland island of Als, lies Augustenborg Yachthavn.

Already upon entering the fjord, sailors find themselves in truly special natural surroundings in the form of abundant birdlife, great fishing opportunities and picturesque scenery. While sailing towards the marina, you can take in the view of Augustenborg Palace, one of the most magnificent baroque palaces in Denmark.

Augustenborg Yachthavn is located by the quaint port town Augustenborg, only 9 kilometres from Sønderborg. The marina offers a peaceful and calm environment with everything a recreational yachtman could wish for in terms of modern comforts. Here, you will find cosy corners to relax, excellent sanitary conditions, restaurants, playgrounds and an adjacent woodland with barbecue sites, as well as a number of sights and fun experiences within a short distance.

Children on board
Augustenborg Yachthavn is a paradise for the little ones, their parents and grandparents. The marina has a large playground and newly built activity course for the older children, as well as sandboxes for the toddlers. You can also visit the green areas adjacent to the marina where the children can say hello to two llamas.

Great facilities
If you need to stock up on provisions, you will find a grocery shop and supermarket about 1.5 kilometres from the marina. For freshly baked rolls and pastries, visit the baker, only 800 metres away. The harbour fee includes water. Coins for shower facilities can be purchased at the harbour office. Electricity costs DKK 5,00 or EUR 0,70 per day.

If you are missing anything for your boat, you can visit the boat equipment store at the marina.

There are several eateries within walking distance of the marina. Stop by the local pizza place or restaurant, which serves excellent Chinese cuisine. At the Fjordhotellet restaurant, you can enjoy the fantastic view over the fjord with Danish cuisine at reasonable prices. The restaurant also serves child-friendly meals.

Full service
Augustenborg Yachthavn is one of the few places in Denmark where boat owners can get full service. The marina has at its disposal a small boatyard and can carry out nearly all forms of repairs in both fibreglass and wood in line with the best boat building traditions.

Store your boat in the marina’s halls over the winter and get help with repairs, washing and refitting. The port has at its disposal a complete workshop and three halls with a combined area of 6,000 m². We have one heated hall that is kept at 10 ᵒC, two non-heated halls and an outdoor storage space. In the indoor halls, we store the masts in special racks.

For more information about our full service, please contact Anders Dahl on +45 20 14 15 62.

Refuelling
It is possible to refuel diesel vessels at the marina from 8am-6pm all days of the week. Please contact the harbour office if you need to refuel outside this period. Fuel can be found approximately 150 metres from the marina.

Sailing excursions
Its natural location makes the marina a popular retreat during periods with poor wind and weather conditions. Discover and explore the numerous attractions and activities nearby the marina, or take advantage of the fact that Als is a great starting point for weekend or one-day excursions to the Sound or Flensburg Fjord. Many sailors stop by Als on their route towards beautiful sailing excursions in the South Funen Archipelago or on their way to the Little Belt.

Attractions close to the marina

The town of Dukes
A short 500-metre walk takes you into the heart of Augustenborg. It is also referred to as “The town of Dukes” thanks to its mansions, palace church, palace garden and a town full of charming and well-preserved baroque houses. In 1651, the Duke Ernst Günther bought the village of Stavnsbøl and converted it to the estate of Augustenborg, named after his wife, the Duchess Augusta. The palace and palace garden are a must-see, and in the summer the park serves as the venue for large musical events.

Denmark’s biggest sculpture park
You can find Denmark’s biggest collection of outdoor sculptures at Augustiana, a park that combines art with stunning natural surroundings. Visitors are free to get up close and touch the sculptures, and if you feel like taking a swim, the park’s proximity by the fjord gives you the possibility to round off your walk with an invigorating swim.

Ketting Cove
The cove is surrounded by idyllic natural areas with plenty of opportunities to go birding and fishing. Visit the small bird sanctuary with an observation tower or get close to nature by taking a walk down one of the hiking trails. If you choose to go on the full hike around the cove (approximately 8 km), you will pass through the small villages of Egen, Ketting and Sebbelev, where you will find unique churches and fascinating, well-preserved historical ruins.

Transport options
There are frequent bus services to Sønderborg city, 9 km from the marina. If you are looking to travel further than that, the airport is 10 km from the marina, with daily flights to Copenhagen. In Sønderborg, there are trains going to every part of the country. The train ride to Copenhagen takes approximately 4 hours.

Camper vans and caravans
The marina has an area set aside for camper vans and caravans which boasts an amazing view over Augustenborg Fjord. Camper vans and caravans have access to water, electricity and drainage for both toilets and sinks.
